Elaboration

The world contains a wide diversity of physical conditions, which creates a wide variety of environments; freshwater and oceanic, forest, desert, grassland, tundra, mountain, and many others. Students should investigate the habitats of many different kinds of local plants and animals. SFAA p. 65

  • Environments are the space, conditions, and factors that affect an individual's and a populations ability to survive and their quality of life. NSES F4b
  • Different places have different physical characteristics such as how warm it is, how wet it is, or types of rocks and soil are found there.
