AP Biology
Science

Description:

Advanced Placement Biology should be considered by students interested in a career in the biological sciences.  It is a course designed to be the equivalent of a college introductory course usually taken by Biology majors during their first year.  It is a rigorous course that allows motivated students to further explore the following fundamental ideas in biology: evolution drives the diversity and unity of life; biological systems use energy and molecular building blocks to grow, reproduce, and maintain homeostasis; living systems store, retrieve, transmit, and respond to information; biological systems have complex interactions.  The class utilizes presentation, discussion, and lab investigation to thoroughly prepare students to successfully take the AP Biology Exam.
