Students will work with increasingly sophisticated techniques and concepts in photography and related media. Students will work with both digital and traditional materials, but will be expected to work more independently than in previous classes. The benefit of this approach is that students will be allowed to work with the instructor to design projects that build on their own interests, create a strong body of photo work for a portfolio, and also have guidance at learning new skills and ideas, strengthening their work with the guidance of the instructor.
This class will be scheduled at the same time as Photo Studio (Photo 2), and students will be expected to act as studio assistants on occasion. This will help build leadership skills and create a mentor system for less proficient students.
