Local Scholarships


The following scholarships all use the Class of 2018 Scholarship Application. This application is available as a FILLABLE PDF. You will need the free Adobe Reader program to fill the form in digitally. It will not work in Preview or via the web. Print one copy of your application for each scholarship you are applying for (for example, if you are applying for 5 different scholarships in this section, you will need to turn in 5 copies of the CHRHS Scholarship Application).

In addition, you need to include one copy of your transcript and one letter of recommendation.

The deadline for the following scholarships is April 3, 2016 except when noted.

Appleton Alumni Association

Who:  Appleton residents attending a 4-year college or university or a 2-year college or vocational technical school (must be a current resident of Appleton).

Appleton Village School Scholarship

Who:  Open to Appleton Village School graduates from the 8th grade class of 2014 who are attending any post-graduate educational program

Ken Bailey Memorial Scholarship

Who: Any student enrolling in a 2-year or 4-year college, vocational or technical school who has shown academic achievement, participation in school activities, community service; demonstrates financial need.  Awarded to a student pursuing a career in law enforcement, environmental studies or conservation law enforcement

Gardner Brown Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Appleton resident of good character seeking post-secondary education

Amilia Buchholz Scholarship for the Arts

Who:  CHRHS student planning to pursue an art education

Children’s House Montessori School Scholarship

Who: A graduating senior at Camden Hills Regional High School who was enrolled and completed at least one school year in either the primary and/or elementary program at Children’s House Montessori School.  Candidates must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to leadership and peace education, as well as high achievement in the classroom.  Please include a paragraph in your scholarship essay describing how Montessori has helped you or was important in your life.

CHRHS Senior Class Scholarship

Who:  Awarded to seniors who contributed the most to CHRHS over the last four years; other criteria may be required as recommended by the current class advisors

Camden High School Alumni Association

Who:  Current seniors or post-graduates who are residents of Camden, Rockport, Hope, Appleton or Lincolnville

Camden Lions Club Scholarship

Who:  Open to any CHRHS senior or post-graduate attending any 2-year or 4- year college, university, trade school or certificate program; financial need

CHRHS Latin Club Scholarship

Who:  Member of the CHRHS Latin Club

Norman and Mary Clark Scholarship Fund

Who:  Appleton residents attending a post high school, vocational or technical training program; if no Appleton students qualify, then Hope students, then Lincolnville

Timothy Crockett Memorial Golf Scholarship

Who:  CHRHS Golf team member going to college; may be a current senior or a post-graduate

Sarah Doubleday Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Based on love of learning, commitment to athletic endeavors, and concern for the welfare of others; any graduate of CHRHS pursuing a degree at a four-year college or university


B. Gerry Gushee Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Appleton resident and current member of the CHRHS band entering a 2-year or 4-year college

R. Cynthia Gushee Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Any senior or post-grad who will be attending type of vocational or technical training who has financial need will be considered; residents of Appleton will have first consideration

Hatchet Mountain Sno-Riders Club Scholarship

Who:  Resident of Hope attending a 2 or 4-year college

Hope for the Future

Who:  Student of good character who attended Hope Elementary School

Lincolnville Business Group Scholarship

Who:   Lincolnville resident preferred who is attending a 2 or 4-year post secondary program; involved in extracurricular activities as well as community service

Lincolnville Snowmobile Club Scholarship

Who:  Lincolnville resident

Lincolnville Improvement Association

Who:  Lincolnville resident; academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community service and financial need

Lincolnville Community Foundation Scholarship (formerly Lincolnville Volunteer Fire Department)

Who:  Lincolnville resident enrolling in a 2 or 4-year college, university or vocational technical school

Lincolnville Women’s Club Hazel Peabody Scholarship

Who:  Must be a Lincolnville resident attending a 2 or 4- year technical school

Megunticook Educational Support Program

Who: Any student going into a 2-year college or 2-year technical program

Frances Perry Trust

Who:  Students entering a technical or vocational program, fine arts or nursing

Forest Priestley Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Any student who shows great perseverance, never gives up, and who is graduating in spite of obstacles. Student approaches life with kindness & courage, has a love of music and has been a member of the CHRHS Cross Country Team

Chris Remsen Wrestling Scholarship

Who:  Current member (or manager) of the CHRHS wrestling team

Rockport Garden Club

Who:  Current seniors or post-graduates of CHRHS who are local residents planning to pursue horticultural or environmental education

David Spear Memorial Scholarship

Who: Any student entering trade or vocational school, preferably entering an automotive field,

such as: auto body, mechanics, vintage car restoration or motorcycle repair


Amon Vaughan Memorial Scholarship

Who:  Any CHRHS graduate who attended MCST who has been accepted to a post-graduate university, vocational or technical school in the field of Emergency Medical Services or Firefighting Technology

West Bay Rotary Vocational/Technical Scholarship

Who:  CHRHS graduates entering 1) Vocational and/or technical schools for motor/equipment maintenance and/or repair, 2) Schools for medical technology/services to include nursing and dental hygiene, and 3) Apprenticeship programs for skilled trades and/or crafts. Scholarship recipients will be asked to make a brief presentation at a West Bay Rotary meeting.

Windward Gardens

Who: Applicants must be going into the health care field; attending an accredited college; good (notoutstanding) academic record
