Dual enrollment occurs when a student is enrolled in a course that counts as both a high school and a college credit. Research shows that successfully participating in a dual enrollment course is a strong indicator for later college success. CHRHS students can take up to 4 dual enrollment courses during their high school tenure at student or parent expense. CHRHS students typically take Dual Enrollment courses through either the University of Maine Augusta Rockland campus (U-Rock) or the University of Maine Orono Hutchinson Center in Belfast, although any accredited college course would be applicable as long as it is cleared with the guidance department as part of a student's high school course load.
