Mission Statement for the Libraries of SAD 28

The libraries of School Administrative District 28 exist to provide a full range of media in centralized collections that will support the curriculum and meet the informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the students and the professional needs of the staff. In addition, the libraries provide access to information resources beyond the school walls.

Effective student and staff use of media resources is promoted through programs of instruction prepared in partnership with classroom teachers and school library media professionals.

Through this instruction, students will become effective users of ideas and information and independent life-long learners.

The libraries are administered by certified school library media specialists, assisted by educational technicians and trained volunteers.
