Core Values

M.S.A.D. #28 Core Values

Over the 2002-2003 school year the students and staff of MSAD #28 worked with parents
in a series of meetings to identify a common set of core values which could provide direction
for our school and help us to build a stronger school community.

We identified the following as “Core Values” for MSAD #28:

RESPONSIBILITY
RESPECT
HONESTY
TRUST
KINDNESS
FAIRNESS

Our next step was to define examples of “Standards for Ethical and Responsible Behaviors” for each of our values. Examples of these standards are included on the following pages. Finally, we reexamined our rules and behavior policies and integrated them with our Core Values.

Each year we continue to work with staff, students, and the community on the core values we have identified for CRMS. These values will be a guide for us all throughout the school year as to how we approach one another and the community that we share. We feel that it is important for students and staff to have the opportunity to work together to create a positive school climate, and the core values provide the focus for that work.

In developing our Core Values we frequently broke our student and staff population into small groups to provide for greater participation. This has proved very effective in providing a space for all students to have a voice and a responsibility to communicate their involvement in creating a positive school climate. This year we will continue with this format.
