Making up Snow Days - MSAD #28
As of today, we have missed 9 days of school this year, 8 of them have been snow days and 1 has been missed due to a threat. If we simply added these to the end of the year, our last day would be Monday, June 25. I have a plan in place to make up 3 of these days prior to the end of the school year and therefore will designate Wednesday, June 20 as the last student day for MSAD #28, CRMS and CRES. (If we have another snow day, I will have to weigh the options of moving the last day to Thursday, a similar solution to those outlined below, or an abbreviated Saturday.)
We will make up the 3 days in the following ways:
1) We will make up 2 days by adding an hour onto the end of the school day during the weeks of March 26 and April 2. That will be the two weeks after this one. School will still start at 8:00 at CRMS and 8:45 at CRES and it will end at 3:45 at CRMS and 4:30 at CRES. Bus schedules will shift accordingly in the afternoon. We understand this will be a long day for our youngest students, and parents are free to pick their children up early if you feel it necessary. I apologize in advance for those of you who need to adjust schedules to accommodate this change. We felt it was a better option than continuing school into late June.
2) We will make up the 3rd day by having students attend school for a half-day on Parent Conference Day. This has already happened at CRES (Friday) and will happen at CRMS on May 18. As that day draws nearer, Principal Stone will communicate with details about that day. I believe students will attend the first half of the day at CRMS.
For families who have children at CHRHS, please visit their school website for a similar message explaining those changes.
