Bio: Kimberly Murphy is the choral director at Camden Hills Regional High School. Under her direction, the select vocal ensembles: Chamber Singers and Women’s Choir have won top awards at local and national festivals including two First Place Gold Awards at the 2006 Heritage Music Festival in New York City and the Choral Sweepstakes Award at the 2011 Boston Heritage Music Festival; plus top awards for all of the CHRHS Choral ensembles at the 2009 Virginia Beach Music Festival.  Kimberly Murphy directs the annual musical at Camden Hills, with favorite titles including Cats, Les Miserables: HS Edition, Nunsense, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Honk!  and Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. In addition to directing, Kim enjoys performing as a vocalist and flute soloist for local events and acting in various community and professional theaters.  Kim has performed lead roles in musicals for a variety of community and summer stock theaters, most recently at Northport Music Theater – where she instituted the NMT Summer Musical Theater Camps program.  In addition to her work with theater groups, Kim has been guest conductor for MMEA District Festival Choruses throughout the state. A member of MENC and ACDA, Kim is currently the MMEA District III Secretary, served MMEA as All State Choral Manager for four years and is a past ME ACDA president.  She was the recipient of the MMEA District III 2007 Teacher of the Year Award, and received her National Board Certification in 2009.
