Latin I is an introduction to the language and culture of Ancient Rome. Although the primary focus of this course is Latin grammar and vocabulary, we also explore Roman civilization, history, and mythology.
Latin I is an elective. Students who choose to take Latin are expected to work hard and be active and enthusiastic participants in class. Students are expected to always bring to class their text book and notebook. If a student is absent from class, he or she is responsible for promptly completing any missed work. Students are also expected to ask questions if they don't understand the material. Do not be afraid to make mistakes.
Students are expected to be reliable and conscientious in their preparation for class. Homework will be checked in class everyday and will often be collected.Late homework, projects, and papers will not be accepted during the last two weeks of a quarter. There are many opportunities for extra credit including optional quarter projects. Please see me for more information about extra credit assignments.
Homework assignments are posted daily on the board in class as well as on the wikispace.
