My first career was in Psychology, working at various hospitals and psychiatric institutions as both clinician and director. These included Norwich Hospital in Connecticut in the Partial Hospitalization Program, work as a private therapist, clinician at Waterford Country School residential facility for adjudicated youth, and ending in Maryland as the creator and director of the PHP for adolescents at the Psychiatric Institute of Montgomery County for several years.
In the mid-1990s I added education goals to my life, and received certification in special education while working as an Autism Resource teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. I also taught Alternative High School, and worked for many years as an Inclusive Schools Resource teacher, serving 12 schools from preschool to vocational - assisting general education teachers to integrate and find appropriate educational settings for challenging students. This also included behavioral and clinical insight and support, as well as modifications, accommodations and curriculum planning.
My job in education in VA also included IEP administration, and I ran meetings for the summer curriculum and Special Education.

Here in Maine I have worked in several districts as a Gifted and Talented teacher, and lead teacher in day treatment for K-3 and high school.  My seven years at CHRHS have been with the Janus Project on the campus of MCST, Harbor Family Services residential, and day treatment at CHRHS. Presently I co-teach English 9 and World History as well as carry a case load for the Special Ed department.
