Nancy Rowe holds degrees in music from the University of Maine and the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Ms. Rowe is very active both as a performer and an educator throughout the state.
Ms. Rowe is now completing her 32nd year in public education. She currently holds the position of Band Director and Visual & Performing Arts Chair. She has been employed by this school district for the past 29 years. Ms. Rowe been active in the Maine Music Educator's Association holding executive positions at both the state and district level. She has been a past recipient of the MMEA District III “Music Educator of the Year” award as well as the “Education Award” from the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce. Her bands have received recognition and awards both at the state and national level. She is also active as a guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Nancy Rowe is active as a performer. She is currently completing her 34th season as Principal Percussionist/Timpanist with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Rowe is also very active as a free-lance musician and regularly performs with variety of ensembles throughout the state.
Aside from her musical pursuits, Ms. Rowe is an active sailor and holds a USCG 100-ton license. In the summer you will find her on the docks at Wayfarer Marine or aboard her Pearson sloop "Sagacious". She also enjoys alpine skiing and spending time with her little dog, "Rex"!
